What are PEPTIDES?

The number of amino acids in a peptide is indicated by a numeric prefix (Dipeptide = 2 amino acids, hexapeptide with 6 or polypeptide greater than 50). The compound of two amino acids is carried out by condensation reaction between the carboxyl group of one and the amino group of the other.

A polypeptide chain is any amino acid sequence that binds to peptide bonds to form proteins.
